Sorry it has taken me a while to get your piece. Concept wise, I find that it fits his character for the most part. The little twirl trail fits it very much. Now, I don't think he needs a sword since he could become one if he wanted to, but I understand this is your drawing, so you were giving the character your personality.
Don't worry, in fact, the pieces I receive from others on this character tend to reflect and project themselves into their piece. So I'm fine with what you did here. These requests are to be a surprise, I want to be left seeing the artist put themselves into the character and be free.
What could be improved is if you tightened the lines and make them smoother, I think that would work. Good work with what you did.
Yeah, sorry about the sword, now that I think about it I could of made the end of his tail like a spear. Yeah I have trouble drawing smooth lines (especially with pencils that keep breaking), sorry about that as well. Also with his left eye you've maybe noticed the yellow part, I accidentally coloured it in green originally so I had to edit it on my computer (unlike the right one which I didn't colour in green). Thank you for your comments! I'll take note to improve on these things in the future
The eye didn't bother me, which is why I didn't make a comment on it.
Don't worry, this is your piece and little touches like swords don't bother me. Another friend who drew Camoflauge decided to have him cosplay as Robert Downey Jr.'s Sherlock Holmes with a gun holster which I don't associate with the character.
I have that pencil breaking problem myself. If one tip breaks, then the rest of pencil leads would stay. It's very nerve wracking.
The best way to solve this problem is by lightly coloring when you start coloring and then add further texture and color by adding similar colors over.
Yeah, I know that Camoflauge is British an' all, but if he were Sherlock Holmes, he'd definitely be Micheal Caine's version from Without a Clue(good film, it's where Watson creates Sherlock Holmes by picking out a complete moron off the street).
You're welcome. I hate to not give my own tips to help people.
I do like Michael Caine, he always brings a certain something to films he's in (I can't quite pinpoint the word). I think I've seen a bit of that movie actually, I will have to get it from the nearest video store And yes, tips are always good to share lol.
